Fishing

Fly fisherman's paradise

We open in June for trout fishing, depending on when the ice leave the lakes, usually around mid June. Trout fishing is done by trolling the lakes, or fly fishing in some of our very active trout pools, filled with native and sea-run trout-char, which average weight is 1 1/2 lbs to 5 lbs.

Our salmon season starts in July until September 15th. Wild Atlantic salmon enters the river the first week of July and continue to run until September. Dependable water conditions and cool temperatures provide a reliable quality angling for Wild Atlantic salmon fresh from the sea, with native and sea-run trout, char, through the season including August. We have ten challenging pools and numerous secondary pools, all located on the Old Fort River, QC, on which you can get away, just you, your partner and guide on any given pool. We provide home pool beside camp. Join us for an angling experience seldom matched outside of remote rivers in Labrador.
(Average weight grilse 5 lbs to 35 lbs salmon. Fly fishing only on the river.)

To maintain our high quality wild fishery, we support catch and release and limit anglers to maximum of 3 salmon caught by day. All salmon 10 lbs or up must be released.
(Camp rule).
